Implemented by Perkins International and Helen Keller International, the programme involved senior and junior faculty from three universities as well as mentor teachers. This collaboration succeeded in training capable teachers for EIVI/MDVI children, but two other significant outcomes emerged: a change in beliefs regarding the capabilities of children who are EIVI/MDVI, and a recognition of the critical need for education for this group. As a result, the participating faculty, teachers, and university trainees have become agents of change in Indonesia.
